I was invited to join Pink Saturday at How Sweet The Sound. You just have to post about something pink. I love linky parties! Here are a few pictures of the pink stuff that I own. I also have a very lovely, red-headed, 4-legged assistant who goes by the name of Ruby who just had to show off her pink scarf.
Some of my other favorite pink items are the quilts that my grandmother made and gave to me. I love the pattern on the first quilt. I don't know what the pattern is called but I know it takes a lot of time to create. She gave me the quilt that has the little girls in bonnets for my bridal shower. Unfortunately, she died a week before I got married. This was the last gift she ever gave me. It is a very special quilt for me.
The final picture is my cupcake charm. My friend bought me a Juicy Couture charm bracelet for my 30th birthday. I got this little cupcake charm from my in-laws for Christmas.
Oh my. I just love your quilts. IIRC, the pattern of your first on is Grandmother's Flower Garden. Happy Pink Saturday!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to Pink Saturday!
ReplyDeleteRuby looks rather cute with her pink scarf.

A hearty welcome to Pink Saturday. I just got involved beginning last week, and it is such fun. I know you will love being a part of such a great blog party.
ReplyDeleteRuby is SOOO beautiful!!! Love the pink kerchief.
Your quilts are gorgeous, and, yes, I would imagine the one is especially treasured in your eyes since it was the last gift from your grandmother. I'm sure there was much love in every single stitch.
Well, I hope you have a lovely day,
Patti (Fill My Cup with Beauty)
Hi Melissa.. and welcome to Pink Saturday..
ReplyDeleteYour quilts are just gorgeous..the first pattern is called Grandmothers Flower Garden, and the second is my favorite pattern of all time..she's Sunbonnet Sue. These are such wonderful treasures..and I'm so sorry you lost your sweet grandmother. Her love for you remains in every stitch in those beautiful quilts..the small quilts I made for each of my grandchildren..had love and hugs in each stitch, and I know yours do as well.
Happy Pinks and have a lovely weekend.
Welcome to pink saturday! I love both the quilts and it makes them so much more special to be from your grandmother. Love your helper too!! Happy pink week!
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute charm. Pretty quilts with a sad story, yet how nice to have something so tangible to remember her by!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to Pink Saturday. I see others have given you the pattern names for your quilts. They are beautiful and such a special treasure. Ruby is so sweet in her pink scarf. I hope you enjoy being a part of Pink Saturday.
ReplyDeleteHow nice to meet you and Welcome to Pink Saturday.
ReplyDeleteI love Ruby in her pink scarf....one thing about labs is they always seem to have a smile on their dear faces....I guess you can tell I am a Lab lover....ours were black. No matter what the color they are a wonderful breed!
I had a quilt like your first one that my grandmother made, too....she called it Grandmother Flower Garden. She made it out of her old house dresses, Grandpa old shirts and pj's and any other worn out but suitable clothing. It, believe it or not, was very pastel and very pretty.....I wish it had lasted.
Hope you will come say "Hi"...

We have one thing in common. Love for quilts. I have one like both of yours. In fact, I just recently got one like your Sunbonnet Sue in the same colors from a relatives estate. I plan on featuring it soon on Pink Saturday. Enjoyed your post.
