Keep Calm and Eat Cupcakes!

I just love all of the "Keep Calm" sayings that I have been seeing lately. I really wanted to do something unique in my kitchen and did not want to spend a lot of money.  I went to one of my favorite Goodwill stores (of course on a day they were having their 50% off sale) and picked up a frame.  The frame cost $1.50 and I had bought chalkboard paint to use on another project.  I painted the frame white with paint that I had already had and had my husband cut a piece of plywood for me to fit the frame. I painted the plywood with the chalkboard paint and used finishing nails to secure the plywood to the frame. Lastly,  I wrote one of my favorite sayings on the chalkboard, "Keep Calm and Eat Cupcakes".  It makes me smile every time I walk into my kitchen.  You could also use it for your weekly menu, grocery list or a to-do list.

I am linking to Under The Table and Dreaming  for the Sunday Showcase Party.

  1. Really cute! I never know what to keep written on my chalkboard when it's not a holiday or a bithday.

  2. This is super cute and I just love the saying! Great transformation! Simply fabulous! Thanks so much for stopping by and joining the Sunday Showcase Party! I greatly appreciate it! Hope you have a great week! ~ Stephanie Lynn

  3. This is a great idea for a chalkboard frame! I picked up a frame at St. Vinney's for $1.25 and made it into a tray. It turned out fabulous and the total cost for everything to make it was less than $5.00

Thank you for stopping by! I really do read all of your comments and appreciate each one of them. :)
